Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

EasyClip Media ("we", "us") operates https://easyclipmedia.com and the EasyClip desktop app, which let you record, upload, and share gameplay clips. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

• Account data — username, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Profile data — bio and profile picture URL, if you choose to add them.
• Content you upload — video clips, generated thumbnails, and their metadata (title, description, duration, resolution, file size).
• Interactions — likes, comments, and view counts on clips.
• Session data — short-lived access and refresh tokens stored in HTTP-only cookies, used to keep you signed in. We don't use these for tracking or advertising.
• Technical data — IP address and request metadata, used only for rate-limiting abuse and basic server logs.

3. How we use your information

• To operate your account, host your clips, and display them to you and, if public, to other users.
• To keep the service secure — rate limiting, fraud prevention, and abuse detection.
• To scan desktop app installers we publish through VirusTotal as soon as they go live, so you can independently verify a build's safety (see Section 6).
• We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your clips or account data to train third-party AI models.

4. Data retention

Clips are automatically deleted after a fixed retention window unless the operator disables that job. Deleting a clip removes its video and thumbnail files immediately. Deleting your account removes your profile and all associated clips, likes, and comments.

5. Cookies

We use two essential, HTTP-only cookies — access_token and refresh_token — solely to keep you logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

6. Desktop app builds & VirusTotal

Every EasyClip desktop installer we publish is automatically submitted to VirusTotal for scanning against 70+ antivirus engines as soon as it goes live. This doesn't involve any of your personal data — it's a transparency measure so you can independently verify the installer you download is clean.

7. Children's privacy

EasyClip Media is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
